Sunday, April 13, 2008: Dances with
Horses III
The
WHC will present "Dances with Horses III" to benefit We Will Ride, Inc.
Therapeutic Riding. Judy Richter has once again been kind enough
to offer us the indoor arena at Coker Farm as the venue for this
event. Gates open and activities begin at 10am, and the show
starts at 1pm. Tickets for admission are Adults/$15, Children/$10.
We Will Ride, Inc. Therapeutic Riding is a NARHA-affiliated therapeutic
riding organization serving Fairfield, Putnam, and Westchester
counties. They provide programs of horse-related activities for
the purpose of enhancing the physical, mental, emotional, and social
wellbeing of persons with disabilities.
DWHIII will include solo and synchronized riding demonstrations of
various riding disciplines, as well as demonstrations in hand, all set
to music. Featured breeds include the American Quarter Horse,
Exmoor Pony, Tennessee Walking Horse, Arabian, Icelandic Pony, and
Thoroughbred. There will be pony rides and face-painting, as well
as raffles and a bake sale. Food will be available for
purchase. The event will be held rain or shine.

Clinician Available!
We have received word that Francesca Mazella, double
winner of the 1984 ASPCA Maclay Finals and AHSA Medal Finals, is now
booking clinics for the spring 2008. She has trained with the
best, and is now available to impart her knowledge to local
riders. If you're interested in hosting Francesca, be sure to
download a flyer here.

Welcome,
Westchester County Mounted Unit!
The
WHC would like to welcome Hudson, Mohawk, Ranger, and Zeus, and their
partners Officers Sean Lonergan, Keith McCartney, Angela Caporale, and
Fabian Yearwood to the Westchester horse community! We look
forward to meeting up with some of Westchester's Finest out on the
trails of our County Parks this spring and summer, and encourage
everyone to say a friendly hello when meeting them. The WHC
supports our new Mounted Unit, and recognizes them as a very public
symbol of the long history humans and horses have shared as public
servants.
WHC
is registered with iGive.com!
iGive.com
is a great opportunity to
support the WHC- when you register with iGive.com, you can choose the
WHC as your selected non-profit organization. Then, by shopping
through the iGive site, a percentage of what you spend gets donated
back to the WHC. There's no charge to register, so please take a
look!
